そこで提案したいのが、パスタマシンで楽々生地を伸ばしてカッターで切り抜くという方法。 大幅に時短ができるだけでなく、繊細な薄さ、本物に忠実な形の花びらをあっという間に再現することができます。
本物の花から生まれた美しい形、時短＆疲れも軽減でき、効率よくたくさんのお花が作れるのはとても大きなメリットです。
Save Time & Create Beautiful Results
There are many ways to create flower petals, and using cutters is not always necessary. Petals formed carefully by hand, one by one, have a unique charm—delicate, expressive, and truly beautiful.
Clay flower making is, by nature, a craft that takes time. In fact, that very slowness—the patient shaping, the mindful process—is part of the joy and depth of handmade creation.
However… for many of us, the time required to master techniques and complete each flower can become a challenge. We often wish petals could be formed just a little more easily—or find ourselves longing to make more flowers in less time.
That’s why I’d like to introduce an alternative approach: rolling out the clay effortlessly with a pasta machine and cutting petals with a cutter. This not only saves a significant amount of time, but also allows you to instantly create petals that are thin, delicate, and true to the natural shape of real flowers.
The ability to reproduce authentic petal forms—born from real flowers—while reducing fatigue and increasing efficiency is a tremendous advantage for any clay artist.
少しの粘土でたくさんの花を
パスタマシンとカッターを使った花びらは、プレスや手で伸ばしたものと比較すると粘土の使用量が激減します。
ほんの数秒で紙のように薄く伸ばすことができ、型抜きも簡単なので、同じ量の粘土でたくさんの花を作ることができます。
粘土の使用量が少なくて済むためお花の重量も軽く、コストも抑えることができます。
Create More Flowers with Less Clay
Petals cut with a pasta machine and cutter require significantly less clay compared to those shaped by hand or pressed manually.
Although a slight thickness is intentionally kept to allow for shaping veins and natural curves, the clay can be rolled out to paper-thin thickness in just a few seconds. As a result, you can create several times more flowers from the same amount of clay.
This also makes each finished flower lighter in weight and helps reduce material costs.

自然な動きを出す工夫
「同じカッターで型抜きすると花びらの形が揃いすぎない？」と思うかもしれません。たとえ形が揃っていた方がキレイなお花であっても、全てが寸分違わず全く同じ形とサイズでは人工的に見えてしまい、自然の揺らぎやリアル感が損なわれてしまいます。
でも実際には、型抜きの後にトリミングもOK、縁を伸ばしてサイズを調整したり、カーブをつけたり、細工棒で表情を変えることはもちろん可能です。
そのため適度に揃っていて程よくランダム感がプラスされた自然な形を楽に表現することができます。基本となる形を時短で作って、最後の調整の部分だけ自分で手を加える、というイメージです。
Creating Natural Movement in Clay Petals
You might wonder, “If I cut every petal with the same cutter, won’t they all look identical?”
It’s a reasonable question—and one I hear often.
In nature, even petals from the same flower are never perfectly uniform. A petal may be a little longer, another slightly curled, one thinner at the tip, another gentler in its arc. This subtle irregularity is exactly what gives real flowers their softness and authenticity.
When using a clay cutter, you’re not limited to a fixed, mechanical shape. After cutting, you can trim the edges, slightly stretch or compress the clay to adjust its proportions, create gentle curves, or add expression using shaping tools. These subtle post-process touches introduce organic variation—just like in real petals.
