Here are some handy ideas to help you enjoy and care for your clay cutters so they last longer.

型抜きしやすくするための工夫

Tips for Easier Cutting

• クッション性のあるマットを敷く
  切り抜く際は、レザーマットやEVAマット、シリコンマットなどクッション性のあるマットを下に敷くと、押しやすくきれいにカットできます。

• Use a cushioned mat
  Place your cutter on a leather sheet, PVA mat, or silicone mat to make cutting smoother and cleaner.

  
  

• フィルムなどに底面を密着させる
  型抜きの後に生地を剥がしやすくするため、ローラーなどで生地を伸ばす際はフィルム（剥がしやすい素材）を下に敷きます。
  パスタマシンの場合はフィルムに挟んでから伸ばすと粘土やローラーが汚れません。

• 生地の底面をフィルムにしっかり密着させておくと、ずれにくく、型抜きしやすいです。

• Attach the bottom surface to a film
  To make it easier to remove the clay after cutting, place a sheet of film (or any non-stick material) underneath the clay when rolling it out.If you are using a pasta machine, sandwich the clay between two sheets of film before rolling. This prevents the clay and rollers from getting dirty.

  By pressing the bottom surface of the clay firmly onto the film, the clay stays in place and becomes much easier to cut cleanly.

• オイルで型離れを良くする
  ベビーオイルなどを刃先に薄く塗っておくと、生地がスッと外れやすくなり、ブレードの保護にもつながります。ハケ付きボトルや、ブラシ付きのキューティクルオイルを使うと便利です。

• Use oil for easy release
  A thin layer of baby oil on the blade helps the clay release smoothly and also protects the cutter. Brush-cap bottles or cuticle oil with a built-in brush work perfectly.

  　

• パウダーでサラサラ仕上げ
  粘土やシュガーペーストによっては、パウダーを薄くまぶすと刃にくっつきにくくなります。生地の表面や刃先に軽くパウダーをのせるのも効果的です。

• Use powder for a smooth finish
  For some clays or sugar pastes, lightly dusting the surface or the cutter blade with powder helps prevent sticking and makes cutting smoother.

  　

• スポンジをオイルパッドに
  小さなスポンジにベビーオイルを含ませ、スタンプパッドのように使うのもおすすめです。押すたびにちょうどよくオイルがつき、手間なく快適に使えます。

• Make an oil pad with a sponge
  Soak a sponge with baby oil and use it like a stamp pad. Each press coats the blade lightly with oil—quick and convenient.

  
  

• 下までしっかり貫通させる
  カットの際は、しっかり押し込んで細かくジグザグすると綺麗にカットすることができます。乾燥が進んだ粘土ははカットしにくくなります。お水やボンドを足す（粘土の種類によっては混ぜ込みができないものもあります）、しっかり練りなおす、新しい粘土を混ぜむ、などを試してみてください。

• Make Sure to Cut All the Way Through
  When cutting with the clay cutter, press firmly and move it in small zigzag motions to achieve a clean cut. Clay that has started to dry will be harder to cut. In that case, try adding a little water or glue (note that some clays cannot be re-mixed this way), kneading it thoroughly again, or blending in some fresh clay.

• バリや繊維が残ってしまった場合はヘラなどで押さえることで目立たなくなります。
  

• If small burrs or fibers are left after cutting, you can gently press them down with a spatula or similar tool to make them less noticeable.

刃先をクリーンに保って切れ味アップ

ベタつきのある素材を型抜きする際は、粘土くずが刃先にくっついて切れ味が落ちてくる場合があります。

バリが増えたり、型抜きした花びらが方にくっつく場合は、ウェットティッシュなどでやさしく拭き取って刃先を綺麗にしてください。固いものや尖ったものでガリガリと引っ掻くと刃先が破損する原因となりますのでご注意ください。

 

When working with sticky clays or materials, small bits of residue can accumulate on the cutter’s edge and gradually reduce its cutting performance.

If you notice more burrs than usual or find that the petals tend to stick to the cutter, gently wipe the blade with a wet tissue to keep it clean.

Please avoid scraping the edge with anything hard or sharp, as this may cause damage. A soft touch is all you need to keep your cutter in excellent condition.

How to Keep Your Cutter in Good Condition

• 強い力や尖った道具はNG
  硬いものや尖ったもので強く刃先をこすったり、ベタつきの強い素材を無理に繰り返し型抜きすると、刃先が欠ける原因になります。

• Avoid strong force or sharp tools
  Scraping the blade with hard or sharp objects, or forcing it through sticky materials, may cause damage or breakage.

• 　繊維が残ることがあります

  PLA素材の特性上、まれに小さな繊維が残ることがあります。その場合はハサミでカットしてください。ライターなどで炙ると耐熱温度（60℃）を超えてすぐ溶けるので注意してください。

• Small fibers may remain
  Due to the nature of PLA, tiny fibers may appear on the cutter edge. Trim them with scissors if needed—never use fire, as the heat tolerance is only 60°C and the cutter will melt.

  
  

お手入れのポイント

Cleaning and Care

• 使用後はウェットティッシュで優しく拭き取ると清潔に保てます。水洗いも可能ですが、洗った後はしっかり乾かしてから保管してください。

  高温多湿を避け、直射日光の当たらない場所で保管すると、変形や劣化を防げます。

  
  

• After use, gently wipe with a wet tissue to keep the cutter clean. You can also wash with water, but always dry thoroughly before storing.

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping or damage.
